Lauterbrunnen is located in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is one of the little tiny towns that make up the Lautterbrunnen valley. I wasn’t in the town for very long but took a quick adventure up along the village hillside, as it was quiet clearly irresistible to say the least. The most beautiful part about Lautterbrunnen is a waterfall that cascades in the backskape of the town. My ultimate destination on this mini 1.5 day road trip although was Wengen. However, Wengen is a town which isn’t accessible by car, only train. So parking your car in Lautterbrunnen and hoping on a train up the Swiss cliffside is a must if you wish to go there.
